About Us

 

Born out of our own experiences, the Watroba Family established Play It Foreward 518, Inc. 501(c)(3), a nonprofit organization. Play It Foreward 518, Inc. is built on the key concepts of community, giving back, and the importance of “play” in maintaining a positive outlook on life.

 

As a cancer survivor, Joe Watroba was lifted by the support he received from the community during his treatments. His father, Stan, courageously battled multiple myeloma for nine years before his passing in 2018 and was also deeply inspired by the love and encouragement surrounding their family. 

It was this continuous outpouring of support that motivated Joe, his brother Ryan, sister Mackenzie and family to create Play It Foreward 518, Inc., in an effort to help others by “paying it forward.”

 

Our game plan has been and will continue to be simple... to bring together individuals and businesses of the community to support important and worthwhile causes for those in need.

To date we have raised over $250,000 to support local children and their families facing illness and hardship. Funds raised have supported hundreds of local children and families through diversion activities for patients at the Melodies Center at Albany Medical Center , Double H Ranch and wishes for local children through Make-A-Wish.
