About Us
Born out of our own experiences, the Watroba Family established Play It Foreward 518, Inc. 501(c)(3), a nonprofit organization. Play It Foreward 518, Inc. is built on the key concepts of community, giving back, and the importance of “play” in maintaining a positive outlook on life.
As cancer survivors, Joe Watroba and his father Stan were lifted by the support they received from the community during their treatments. It was the continuous love and support that motivated Joe and his family to establish Play It Foreward 518, Inc., in an effort to help others by “paying it forward.”
Our game plan is simple, to bring together individuals and businesses of the community to support important and worthwhile causes for those in need.
To date we have raised over $160,000 to support local children and their families facing illness and hardship. Funds raised have supported wishes for local children through Make-A-Wish NENY and diversion activities for patients at the Melodies Center at Albany Medical Center. Siena Saints Honorary Captain
A special thank you to Siena Athletics for their continued support of the Play It Foreward 518 Honorary Captain Program!
At each home game of the season, Siena Athletics welcomes a patient of the Melodies Center at each Men's Basketball home game as the Honorary Captain!
Each Honorary Captain and their family enjoyed tickets to the game and the opportunity to present the game ball while serving as the Honorary Captain.
